Common Use

Zolmitriptan is used to relieve acute migraine attacks with or without aura. It helps reduce headache, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound by narrowing blood vessels in the brain.

Dosage and Direction

Take Zolmitriptan at the first sign of a migraine, as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food, and the dose may be repeated after two hours if symptoms return.

Precautions

Avoid using Zolmitriptan if you have heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or a history of stroke. Inform your doctor about any risk factors for cardiovascular disease before starting treatment.

Contraindications

Missed Dose

Zolmitriptan is taken as needed, not on a regular schedule. Do not take extra doses if a migraine does not improve—contact your doctor for guidance.

Overdose

Overdosing on Zolmitriptan can lead to high blood pressure, loss of coordination, or fainting. Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect an overdose.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of reach of children.
